Freedom of speech - So a talk show performer was fired

Censorship, who knows. I mean several different people in the media was fired in last three years for opinions and statements. Kimmel nor any of his people stood up for them.

Everyday companies fire employees for their opinions, having views that dont align with the company's image. Having decals on their vehicles that are considered vulgar.

Personally I had a company tell me I couldnt post my VFW images on Linked In, because it wasnt the company's image. I chose to tell them, F Off, my linked in account was my business. The support of the VFW would continue. They have the right to terminate me for it and I have the freedom to say what I said. In the end a company gets to hire who ever they want and terminate who ever they want.

So why should a TV performer be any different. At the end of the day the final decision to cut him came from the owners and not the FCC.

Maybe if everyone started worrying about the censorship at lower levels, then the upper levels couldn't get away with it.

Freedom of speech is a very fragile subject. To loose it, means loosing a fundamental freedom.

But is loosing a job for expressing yourself  censorship or is it freedom of a company or group to not support your sppech.

Just because we say something doesn't mean it has to be absolutley valued, cultivated or adhered to. Nor does it mean that everyone has to accept it.

People should learn to stand on their own, own their words and actions.

Not everyone is required to support you or your beliefs under the same Constitution and Bill of Rights that grants you the ability to say and do what you think is right.
